Well we are finally back into the swing of things after the vacation. Funny how things just start right back up.
I will start with the Wednesday after we got back. Mick went back to work that day and has been going like crazy ever since. After being gone for 2 weeks things tend to pile up. I think he is finally starting to feel a bit of relief. I had a dermatologist appt. Just to have some things looked over. I swear I wasn't in with the doctor for me than 2 minutes. I could tell their focus was more on cosmetic skin appts than just doing a skin check. Everything was ok according her though. After that me and the boys went to the park for a picnic. It was really nice out that day. Dylan had an appt that afternoon. He had had a bite come up on his leg that looked at first like a mosquito bite and then as time went by looked like a big bruise. The doctor never said what exactly she thought it was, but did say it was either a bug bite or spider bite. It had made a knot under his skin so they put him on antibiotics for 7 days and it cleared it up.
Friday we went into town and ran some errands. I desperately needed to get some groceries! We ran by and saw Jen too. She was having a garage sale. She ended up letting the boys pick out something. Kristian got Space Balls the movie and Dylan picked out a microscope. Stuff they just couldn't live without!
We ended up doing much of nothing Saturday. Which was actually kind of nice. I caught up on my TV that I had missed while we were gone. Mick worked out in the shop.
Sunday I woke up early and took the guys breakfast in bed. It was cereal, but it still counts! We all ended up in our bed, so I turned on our vacation videos and we watched them. Dylan asked me if he could have breakfast in bed every day. I just laughed! I am not about to start that everyday! We spent the afternoon cleaning up the yard and putting a gate at the top of the stairs on the deck. That way when we want to we can keep Max off of it or vice versa and we won't have to worry about little ones falling down the stairs.
Monday I worked on my blog! That took forever it seemed like. I also worked on the guest list and invitations for our 4th of July get together. Sadly that took me most of the day.
Friday, (I skipped the rest of the week, because all I really did was clean and do laundry, BORING!!) Tracy, Rebecca and Jacob came out to visit. They stayed for lunch too. We had a great visit. Kristian had Connor over too. He spent the night Thursday night. After all the company left I decided to go lay out and get some sun. I get out on the deck and here comes the Fed Ex guy... I deal with him, clean up a bit and head back out. And I am not kidding as soon as I get out there again here comes the UPS guy! I am like FORGET IT!! I give up. The kids thought it was funny though.
Saturday, it was actually cold here. I don't think it got much above 65. We ran into town to pick up some things at Lowes and then came home. Jen and Geno were going to come out for dinner, but unfortunately their son got sick. We ended up working on wiring in our speakers. We put speakers out on the deck, in the kitchen, dining room, our bedroom and the bathroom. We need to get 3 more pairs, but haven't decided just yet where we want to put them. Sunday we spent the day finishing up the speakers. We grilled out some steaks for dinner and just relaxed the rest of the night.
Today I have put the boys to work. I had Kristian mowing, which he thinks is such hard work. It is a riding lawnmower for heaven's sake! I NEVER had the luxury of having one of those when I was his age and in fact didn't have one till we bought this one 2 years ago! If he only knew.... Dylan has been helping me pull weeds and dig out things in the shed. We are having a get together on Saturday night instead of Friday night. That way if people want to go watch a fireworks show they can. We are going to set up the volleyball net, fun fun! My sister Kim and her family are coming in on Friday to spend the weekend with us. I think her oldest Bradon is going to spend a week or two with us too. He is so excited about it!
Well I guess break time is over. I better get back out to the yard, which is more like a desert! We need some rain desperately. Everything is still pretty dead looking, which is very unfortunate. Hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July! Until next time!
Not so many pictures this time... The one of Dylan was taken after he and I made brownies. He came to me with the hat and apron on and asked if we could make them. How could I say no to that cutie? And the other one is of Kristian after his haircut. For those who haven't heard... We made a deal with him that he could grow out his hair as long as he didn't make below a B on his report card. Well unfortunately he did the last nine weeks. And it was in Math, which those of you know we had a VERY rough year with his Math teacher, so to have to keep our end of the deal in tact was a very difficult decision for us. But once you say it to them you have to keep your word. What made it even more frustrating is he had A's in everything else. He ended up with a 78 for the nine weeks and an 80 for the semester average. It was a VERY long day that day. But he seems to be over it.
